Maria Wilch (MA and Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling, BACP REGISTERED Accredited Counsellor, and highly experienced Clinical Supervisor)

My practice Sussex Counselling Service offers friendly, confidential and non-judgmental counselling within peaceful consulting rooms with views to the South Downs, and easy parking.

We all experience times in our lives when we feel challenged, confused, distressed and stressed, and most of the time we can manage and get through these difficult times. However, sometimes we benefit from working with a therapist to help us. It takes strength to reach out and gain support, taking  responsibility for our own emotional wellbeing. I never underestimate how important the first step is, and it is important to me that you feel secure and comfortable.

For this reason I offer a FREE 30 minute initial meeting  to discuss your needs, provide relevant information, for you to ask questions, and decide whether I’m the right therapist for you.

I have extensive experience in supporting people with personal trauma (including early years),  personal relationship issues, family relationships, anxiety, depression (including post natal), feeling sad/low mood, panic attacks, stress, OCD, sad/low mood, identity issues, sexuality, life transitions, separation and divorce, loss and bereavement, health issues, low self-esteem and confidence, personal development.

In addition to my work with individual adults and couples, I have specialism in working with children, young people and families, including Looked After Children (LAC) and work with Foster Carers, This work is informed by DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy) and further training in Creative Play therapy, and over 20 years’ experience working within two national charities as a therapist and clinical supervisor to support children, young people and families.
